Wow, what a refreshing post. Your fishing camp trip looks truly amazing from the peaceful riverside walk to the delicious freshly caught fish on your plate. It’s such a wonderful experience to enjoy nature and taste something so fresh. The photos perfectly capture the calm and joy of the day. Best of luck
It's the first time I heard about a fishing camp. I wonder how they managed to keep those fish head in a good state. If the prize is symbolic does that mean they are actually for free?
I hope you had a great day and enjoyed your meal.
The photo's, especially of the camp/pond look great. Very relaxing.
No, they are not free, fishermen sell for a low price, then the buyers buy it from them, when the fish gets to the counter in shops or at the market, the price is much higher, so if possible, it is better to go to the fishermen. However, there are only those fish that are found in this river: pike, bream, walleye, catfish and various small things.
And the heads are first kept in very salty water for a long time, then washed and dried, when it dries, they are varnished.
It's the same here if it comes to the prices fishermen and farmers receive, it's even worse. If manhy arrive at the same time with the same fish/product the price drops, next they throw it away, keep a bit and sell if for a very high price!
Intresting how the heads are dried. Thank you for explaining (it's worth the try).
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
