Agriculture is the cultivation of land to plant different varieties of seeds with the hope of germination, as well as to harvest it when it reaches maturity.

Agriculture plays a crucial role in our economic development because every nation needs food to survive; therefore, it is a must for everyone to purchase different varieties of food that our families need.

The following are the roles of agriculture that improve our economic development as well as eradicate poverty within our society:

➡️Contributes to our nation's income: Agriculture contributes meaningfully to our economic development, which, in one way or another, improves our national GDP. The government can use the money generated from agriculture to divert to other meaningful projects.

➡️Employment opportunities: Agriculture serves as an employment opportunity for local people, allowing them to generate income to care for their families and improve their livelihoods. Farmers in rural areas also engage in rearing livestock such as cows, goats, turkeys, and more to earn additional money to meet their immediate needs.

➡️Rural welfare: Agriculture is a catalyst for national development and improves the welfare of citizens because, in Nigeria, both local and urban farmers rely on agriculture. Agricultural production and processing increase our social welfare, allowing us to live a good standard of life and consume nutritional food that contains a good balance of diets.

➡️It addresses depression: Agriculture serves as an opportunity to help us tackle economic depression so that citizens can live a good life and meet the basic necessities of life. Even if some industries stop production, it will improve our agricultural demand within the community we find ourselves.
