Buying Goods With Hive & HBD On-Chain? Revival Of The Shop-Feature Wanted!
Remember when you could use Steem to purchase real-life goods?
I vividly remember my first week on steem when I found this little link in the steemit menu that would bring me to a shop of sorts - not for steemit apparel and shenanigans - but to an actual list of items, foods and wares from around the world, offered by other steemians who would accept Steem and SBD in exchange for their services.
I mean wow!
I glimpsed we were actually building a new economy here, sort of a parallel system to the mainstream matrix, all on steem without the need for fiat gateways. I was amazed!
Here were chili peppers from South America, healing herbs from the Netherlands and heirloom seeds from Eastern Europe, all with prices designated in Steem.
As time went on the Steemp Price started to tank, and has ever since. A lot of people left and so did their participation on the blockchain. And eventually I had forgotten about this feature until one day I remembered but couldn't find it anymore for the life of me. I may have missed it on my search but I really don't think so. I think it was disabled and discontinued. Wouldn't want to mess with the omnipresent god $ now would we?^^
SOOOOOOOOO, naturally with the rise of Hive and the thriving nature of the network I am enticed by the idea of re-establishing the same platform and concept, or rather ask you: Whether it already exists out there again?
If it does (or if it never got deleted but the shop feature has mysteriously evaded me for so long) could anyone please be so kind as to drop me the link to that beloved shop where I can use my hive and HBD to purchase chili powder from someone else on the network?
And if the feature in fact does not exist and has also been erased from Steem for a long time - do you think this would be a worthy feature to make a proposal for on Hive?
I for one feel it would be the best thing to (re-)happen to this place, especially now that steemit is out of the picture and we got hive in its "infancy".
I would also LOVE if any of you would share their stories from that old shop back then with me here. Has anyone ever purchased something on steem in the past using Steem or SBD?
And how was that experience for ya? I'm freakin' curious!

I know @timcliff used to do something with steem businesses. I think there was also a Steem chamber of commerce as well. I'm sure there is something similar now on Hive.
Highly rEsteemed!
