Blockchain Wars: The Steem Phantom Menace

LONG AGO, ON A BLOCKCHAIN NODE FAR, FAR AWAY...

I have to admit that I have not seen such exciting times on the Steem blockchain since the days that we began to have digital collectibles through games like SteemMonsters, DrugWars and NextColony. It seemed that this phenomenon was going to take STEEM to the moon! Meanwhile, however, behind the scenes, the Steemit Team was, for all intents and purposes, being bullied by a group of narcissistic, power hungry, wannabe revolutionaries who have now become the HIVE High Council.

The Steemit Team could not really make any significant progress because of the stranglehold that the former Witnesses had on the Steem blockchain. There has always been a lack of visionary leadership, because those who controlled the Steemit Team were mostly concerned with Return-On-Investment, and how to raise the price of STEEM. Creating a better social network was always brushed to the side, and placed on the back burner.

Now, another Phantom Menace is haunting the Steemit Team, only instead of being bullied, they are being excluded from the process of moving the blockchain forward. This new force has taken over the Witness nodes and are silently countering all that the HIVE High Council are attempting to do in order to maintain their illusions of power. This Phantom Menace is what I am calling the Steem Shadow Council! Of course, I'm being a bit facetious, because I have no personal allegiance to either side. I'm just enjoying the spectacle, with a bucket of organic popcorn!

You see, this is not about democracy! This is not about decentralization! This is a game of House of Cards that was started by the HIVE High Council who refused to honestly focus on creating a real foundation for the Steem blockchain. And now, an opposing force has entered the game, and everyone wants to demonize Darth Sun and the Steem Shadow Council for taking control of the situation; something that the HIVE High Council failed to anticipate because they believed themselves to be visionary leaders... which they are not!

What I hope is happening behind the scenes is that the Steem Shadow Council are focusing on securing the blockchain and stabilizing the value of STEEM, while allowing the Steemit Team to work on improving the social network.

Whatever the case, the CLONED WARS have begun, and I'm putting all my money on Darth Sun and the Steem Shadow Council!
