The contest speaks about telling your favorite music, well this was quite a tough one for me and that's one the things that delayed my entry. There's a saying that a true lover of music does not have a favorite music neither does he/she have favorite music artiste and sadly I fall under this category so I had a really had time picking a song. However, I settled for a song by one of my favorite rappers.

About the song

The title of my favorite song is Stay High. It was released on the 26th of July, 2020 (last year) under the album; Legends never die*. In this song the rapper talks about balancing the negative and positive part of his life, he talks about being too low(sad and depressed) in his life and how he tries to overcome the bad side by staying high in his life. However he does this by lacing pills, spending cash on expensive items and some other things regarded to as reckless living and bad lifestyle.

The music Stay High was recorded by the late Juice WRLD whose real name is Anthony Jarad Higgins. He is a native of Illinois, Chicago in the United States. How sadly he died from pill overdose in an airport at his home town. He however remains my first inspiration and drive in the world of music. Stay High was released post-humously along with some some other of his songs.

Why I like the Song

There was a time in my life last year, when it felt like the whole world was against me. It felt like nothing wanted to work for me, the negative vibes I was getting at the time was way more than the positive vibes I got and I'm not the type who likes to talk about certain issues with people, it felt like I was slowly going into depression. The only councelor/comfort I could use at the time was music, I was listening to other songs by Juice WRLD and some other rappers, and then the universe favored me. Stay High was released. The song practically became my personal anthem, each time I listened to it, it felt like I was leaving my world and all my troubles behind. It was the cure I had, It gave me so much good vibes and the beat/instrumental used literally drove me crazy till date. Honestly the reason I like this song can't be over emphasized, it helps me fight my demons, and I use it to calm my spirit each time I feel bad or sad.
