Pakistan cricket teams former notorious fast bowler Umar Gul a.k.a Guldozer have announced retirement from all forms of cricket after featuring in National T20 for Balochistan for the final time in his seventeen long and extended career.

Umar Gul who have had represented Pakistan on international level and have played 47 Tests, 130 ODIs and 60 T20Is for the country was much famous for his deadly reverse swinging yorkers, the veteran fast bowler have managed to pick a total of 427 International wickets, in which 8 times he picked 5 wicket hauls.

Umar Gul was the first bowler to pick 5 wicket haul in international T20 as well, he achieved this feat against New Zealand in 2009.

Umar Gul made his first international appearance through a test match against Bangladesh in 2003, from then followed a miraculous career of a bowler who made yorkers his signature option, he was so accurate at bowling the yorkers that even batsmans use to admire his execution.

Umar Gul represent Pakistan regularly till 2013, when his battle with injuries kind of sucked his career totally, his last ODI appearance was way back in 2013 against South Africa and in the same tour he played his last test match as well. Since he was considered as a T20 specialist bowler, he continued to represent Pakistan in the shorter format but again the injuries could not let him last longer and he slipped his position from T20 as well. The last T20 he played was against New Zealand in 2016.

Today as of 16th OCT 2020, Umar Gul announce that he will no longer take part in any form of cricket as player, although he wished to contribute his services as couch in future which I think is a reasonable wish from the legend. We all wish Umar Gul best of luck for his future endeavors, and we wish he may continue to work in cricket field as "Mentor" and he might groom young fast bowlers under his shadow.

Thank You Umar Gul.

Regards,
Usama Khan.
