My Favourite T20 Cricket Match Memories!!!
The first ICC Twenty20 World Cup was held in 2007 in South Africa. This new version of cricket became very popular in the cricket world after the first World Cup. T20 cricket has gifted us many nail-biting matches. The applause of the spectators, the destructive batting and the excitement of the super over are all the main attractions of the T20 game.
I have seen many memorable matches in T20 cricket, the most memorable of which was the final match between the West Indies and Sri Lanka in the 2012 World Cup. Sri Lanka was the hot favourite of the tournament from the very beginning. And the form of the West Indies was not going so well.
Road To The Final

Sri Lanka lost to South Africa in the group stage but Sri Lanka made a strong comeback in the Super Six. Dilshan, Sangakkara and Jayawardene were impeccable in batting and Malinga, Kulasekara and Ajantha Mendis in bowling were a threat to the opposition. In the semi-final, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan, one of the favourites of the tournament.
West Indies Team
The West Indies, on the other hand, did not have a good start to the World Cup, they lost to Australia and the match against Ireland was abandoned due to rain. West Indies lost to Sri Lanka in Super 8. But won against England and New Zealand. West Indies team won against mighty Australia in the semi-finals and reached the final.
Summary Of the final clash between Srilanka vs Westindies
In the final of the 2012 T20 world cup, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. The first six over of powerplay was miserable for the West Indies team. Though they have good openers with a super strike rate. They just made 14 runs in 5.5 overs by losing two wickets. Chris Gayle and Charles couldn't give a good start. Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Bravo made a good partnership of 59 runs and West Indies were in a good position after 13 overs. Samuels batted exceptionally in the final. Malinga's yorker looked very easy to play when Samuels batted against him. Most of the sixes were hitten in Malinga's over. I didn't saw Malinga struggle like this before. Mendis bowled brilliantly in the final. WestIndies made a fighting score of 137 by losing 6 wickets.
In reply, Srilanka also failed to make a good start. Dilshan was out for a duck. Then Srilanka was playing slowly. But the Sri Lankan batsmen did not make their innings longer against the devastating bowling of Marlon Samuels and Sunil Narine. I thought that Srilanka will win the final easily but West Indies prove it wrong. West Indies fight with their lowest total and won the T20 world cup of 2012 and This is my favourite T20 Cricket Match Memory.
