New Zealand won ICC World Test Championship

India lost to New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final of the World Test Championship. On the last day of the match, Virat Kohli was almost all out for 170 in the second innings and almost wrote his fate. The Kiwis batted on the condition that they had to score 139 runs to win the World Test Championship and won the match without giving any wickets to the Indian fast bowlers. After losing two consecutive ODI World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019, New Zealand finally won the final of the ICC tournament.

It was in England that the Kiwis were unfortunately runners-up after being tied in the ODI World Cup final two years ago. In that queen's country, the Kiwi team won the world in the original format of cricket. This is the first time the ICC has hosted the Test World Championships. And New Zealand won the first ICC Test World Test Championship.

Kane Williamson (52 not out) and Ross Taylor (47 not out), the two most experienced batsmen in the team, won the toss and elected to bat. Rabichandran Ashwin took two wickets in the Kiwi innings. Tom Latham (9), Devon Conway (19) . Ashwin gave some hope by returning the two Kiwi openers. But no Indian bowler other than Ashwin has been able to put pressure on the Kiwis. Williamson-Taylor won the toss and elected to bat, adding 96 runs for the third wicket from 44 for two.

Despite losing two Test days, New Zealand won the sixth day (reserve) effortlessly to reach the final.
