Chris Woakes and David Willey Back to England T20 Squad for Sri Lanka Series
England have announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka. Multi-format cricketers like Johnny Bauersto and Jos Buttler are returning to the squad.
They were rested for the two-match Test series against New Zealand after returning home from the IPL. The ECB did not want to keep the Bairstow-Buttlers away from the short-format team when the T20 World Cup is knocking at the door.
Chris Woakes returned to the England T20 squad after a long 6 years. The 32-year-old all-rounder last played an international Twenty20 match in England's jersey in 2015 against Pakistan in Sharjah.
Sri Lanka will play three T20s and three ODIs in England. The first two T20s of the series will be played in Cardiff on June 23 and 24. The third and final T20 match of the series will be played on June 26 in Southampton.
The first ODI of the series will be played on June 29 at Chester-le-Street. The last two ODIs of the series will be played at the Oval and Bristol on July 1 and 4.
