Bairstow scored a century against Worcestershire
He could not walk properly due to an ankle injury. The legs were not moving at the crease. Despite that, Johnny Bairstow scored a century. The ECB was worried when Yorkshire won the T20 Blast with a storming century by the star wicketkeeper-batsman. Because of the injury, Bairstow became uncertain in England's T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Yorkshire was named to bat first after losing the toss against Worcestershire. Bairstow came down to open. He completed a personal half-century off 29 balls. However, Bairstow was injured in the ankle of his right foot for 56 runs.
Initially it was thought that Bairstow would not be able to continue batting. However, after 10 minutes of nursing, he returned to the crease. Adam Leith took the runner because he could not run. Although his legs were not moving at the crease. He changed his stance and proceeded to the off-stump.
Bairstow made a storm with his bat while digging. He completed a personal century off 46 balls. Johnny was dismissed for 112 off 51 balls with 7 fours and 10 sixes. Yorkshire made 216 runs for 6 wickets.
In reply, Worcestershire were all out for 122 runs. Yorkshire won the match by a big margin of 94 runs. Bairstow was the best of the match.
