If I ask you who are best fast bowlers from Sri Lanka, you may say Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekara etc. But you may miss a name.... That is Dilhara Fernando.

Dilhara Fernando was a Right arm Fast Bowler and he was tall. He started his career in 2000-2001 season. In early days, he bowled so fast. Those days, he had bowled 150+ kmph. He bowled Yorkers, bouncers and slow balls really well. His slow ball was exceptional. There are some Special things about his career.

I think this technique was first used by Dilhara Fernando. There's no visible change to detect for the batsman whether he's bowling a slow ball or not. Because what he had to do is changing the position of fingers in a jiffy.

As far as I remember ENG had to get 11 runs from last over. There was Chaminda Vaas but it was Dilhara Fernando who bowled the last one. England needed 3 runs in last ball. And he bowled out Ravi Bopara to win the match. Because of him, Sri Lanka was able to play for the final but sadly we lose the match. He also played in 2011 World Cup which ended up in same destiny.

Man this match... it's unbelievable. It was Michael Clarke batting. Thisara Perera was bowling. Clarke hit a skier to catch. Dilhara Fernando went back but he wasn't in control of situation. But he placed his hand in right right place. And what a blinder. It was so funny how Shane Watson was looking 😂.

He had a great stats. He had great skills. But many people don't seem to know him. Seems like he was Underrated. We remember a player when he's playing constantly. So why he was unable to make it to Playing 11 constantly??

Consistent Injuries

This is the main problem for Fast Bowlers. Sometimes he wasn't consistent with his performances but he was consistent with injuries. Some said "He was married for Injuries.." He was unable to play for months. And when resting, no practice too. And finally It cost him His Career.

So those circumstances made him an Underrated Player. He played his last ODI in 2012 and then he was only 32 Years Old. He even played IPL as a Mumbai Indian for Two Seasons. If he was able to play at least for Three more years, how would that be?? We missed a Gem. And still, Sri Lankan Cricket Team still pays for it.
