Champions of this event was the Caribbean (West Indies)

The host Sri Lanka was the Runners-up

this was the first ICC T20 World Cup tournament which was took place in a Subcontinent country. Last three events before 2012 World Cup were held in South Africa, England, and West indies.

Most Runs of the Tournament

The player who made most runs (249) in the event is Australia all rounder Shane Watson, he was also player of the tournament.

Most wickets Taker

Ajantha Mendis is a very famous spin bowler from Sri Lanka he was the best blower of ICC Cricket World Cup 2012, He was best known as the mystery spinner
