Back in 2000, we used to ask a question by how many runs or wickets India has lost the match against Australia. it was the same for other teams as well. Australia was ruling world cricket by their outstanding performance. Australia has managed to win three back to back world cup in 1999, 2003, and 2007. Out of this three, two trophies were lifted by the worlds best caption RICKY POINTING. I know as an Indian, I have been a fan of MS DHONI and SAURAV GANGULY for their outstanding and implacable contribution towards making the Indian team as strong as Australia used to be in early 2000-2005. But when it comes to Captaining the team, Ricky Pointing Steal the show compared to other captains. his records are outstanding at home and in away games.

1) Fearless Captain
We always talk about how cool is MS Dhoni. But when it comes to winning the game anyhow by hook or crook, Ricky pointing has been known for his sledging behaviour on the pitch. if you like Virat Kohli doing the same for the sake of winning the game, you can't hate Ricky pointing doing the same for his country. I believe that cricket is played by minds, and the player's mental coolness should always be tested. if not, John Cena would have been playing matches for America LOL.

2) Winning Two Back to Back One day World Cups
We may consider Winning one world cup would be luck or shinning days for the captain. But winning two worlds cup and that is back to back is not a cakewalk. I know Pointing had world-class players such as Shane Warne, Matthew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Glenn McGrath and pointing Himself but winning two high-pressure world cup finals is still a very commendable job pointing had done.

In ODIs, Ponting's record stays the best compared to another captain. In the world cup, out of 29 games he captained, Australia ended up by whooping 26, tied one, and lost only two. Think about it, No captain has a record of winning 90% of the game he played as captain in the world cup except RICKY.

There are very few players who have performed so well after becoming a caption. Even the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar's had a poor performance during his captainship.
