A GREAT RECALL OF THE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!! - THANK YOU LEGENDS

in Cric-World 🏏4 years ago

The last few weeks were very entertaining and exciting to cricket fans around the world. The Road Safety World Series T20 was held between legendary/ retired players. 6 countries including Sri Lanka, India, England, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh. It's a charity event organized to increase awareness about road safety.

But yet again we were fortunate to watch our childhood heroes like Sanath Jayasuriya, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilshan, Lara, Pieterson, Shevag, Jonty and many more. Now most of them are old, some are more than 50 years. But the aggression, their attitude, commitment and talent is still the same. It's just a pleasure to watch them play.

6 TEAMS

Tillakaratne Dilshan (Sri Lanka Legends), Sachin Tendulkar (India Legends), Brian Lara (West Indies Legends), Jonty Rhodes (South Africa Legends), Mohammad Rafique (Bangladesh Legends) and Kevin Pietersen (England Legends) captained the respective teams. The Australian team didn't participate at the last moment due to covid restrictions.

Road Safety World Series 2020-21

The first semi-final was between India Legends and West Indies Legends on 17th March 2021. After a nail-biting effort at the end, India beat the West Indies through to the finals. We could see a classic knock from Lara as always.

The second semi-final held between Sri Lanka Legends with South Africa Legends. Even though after a great start SA was only able to score 125 runs. A classic brilliant effort from Kulasekara with 5 wickets and Sanath.

The Final

It's between India and Sri Lanka. A nostalgic feeling for both the fans. After the 2011 world cup final and 2014 t20 final, yet these two teams are up against. Sanath, Dilshan, Shevag, Yuvi, Kulasekara, Pathan brothers are set against each other.

Dilshan won the toss for the 8th consecutive time!! The lucky captain.

India could score 181 runs in 20 overs. Great knocks from Yuvi and Yousuf Pathan. The Sri Lankan team fought to the last over, but couldn't chase down the target. But we could see old Sana boy again. His range of shots. Believe me, he is 52 years old now.

Champions

Throughout the tournament, Dilshan played brilliantly. With the bat, ball or fielding. He is the highest run-scorer, highest wicket-taker, most fifties, the Best Economy rate in an innings, the second-best bowling spell, most Catches. Highly deserves the man of the tournament.

So, it's been a great feeling to see these legends playing again. Hopefully, waiting for the next one!

Thank you!
Best Regards!
