As the human race progresses every day, information technology is now more important than ever for any organization around the world. IT services help day-to-day operations and businesses maximize their business value and growth. However, over-integration of IT systems has increased the risk of cyber attacks. It is advisable for companies to ensure maximum maintenance of such services to minimize it. To do this, companies hire. IT Service Management (ITSM).

As mentioned earlier, ITSM has been implemented to increase business value. This is done through a set of processes in the production line, whether it is a service or a commodity. It has internal and external counterparts that work in different tasks such as connecting customers and designing product / service processes and production machines.

Setting up IT Service Management:

Setting up an IT service management system requires a set of principles and practices that must be incorporated into the workforce to ensure that service management is not hampered by human error. This requires proper training with IT systems and the management of such a framework in order to accomplish a given goal or task. This brings us to the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), one of the best IT service management practices.ITIL is a framework that directly aligns IT services and software with the business needs and strategies needed to achieve the ultimate goal. As a library, it offers many IT services that the organization and its employees can implement. The question is which services should be used and which items should be disabled? This is where IT teams play a key role. IT teams have a much clearer role to play in creating accounts and maintaining cybersecurity in an organization. They must also be aware of both long-term and short-term business goals in order to develop an appropriate ITSM strategy. Setting up ITSM is not a process. This is a corporate culture and a step towards integration with available technology.

Advantages and Disadvantages:

One obvious and direct benefit of ITSM is that it makes everyone's life easier at work. ITSM enables organizations to use IT as a service or enabler, not as a substitute for employees. It is a method that allows firms to automate business processes that help them reduce costs and increase their business value.

In the early stages, the deployment of ITSM methods requires the sharing of appropriate information and uniform training for all employees. Companies that believe in a 'separation of duties' culture may find it difficult to define service management. Training can temporarily halt the business process or raise training costs for the firm.
