Hello, and greeting to you all. Today I want to talk about the keyboard.
The keyboard is one of the most important components of the computer system. It is also an example of the hardware components that make up the computer system. It is an input device which is used to send keystrokes data into the computer.
The computer as an electronic machine or device, receive theses keystrokes sent into it in binary codes, and translates them with the help of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to what it can understand and then produce the result through the monitor.
Type of Keyboards
There are different types of keyboards, ranging from wired to wireless, but I will only talk about a few of them, and I believe most of us use them, but don't really know which one exactly we use.
Each of these keyboards have their different purposes for specific time and uses. One can not use a keyboard that is meant for another purpose for another purpose. For example, it wouldn't make sense if you use a gaming keyboard for a business document.
Here are the few types of keyboards I want to share with you today.

The Gaming keyboard is one of the most popular keyboards used especially by gamers who play games with their PC. There are computer systems specifically designed for gaming to enhance gaming experience and these systems also come with the gaming keyboard.
The gaming keyboard has special features which enhance gaming experience for gamers. They are also decorated with beautiful designs, colors, neon lights, shapes, etc. The setup alone is pleasing to the eyes.
The membrane keyboard is an other type of keyboard that is widely used. It has a low cost and is a bit flexible, but not as flexible as the mechanical keyboard. This keyboard lacks the mechanism when compared to the mechanical keyboard. The membrane keyboard has a rubber dome membrane below its keys to support them. It makes it easy to press on the keys and returns the keys to their initial position when the finger is taken off of it. The mechanical keyboard is a type of keyboard widely used. This type of keyboard is expensive and most times is a bit difficult to understand. It works like that of the membrane keyboard, but instead of having a rubber dome, this type of keyboard has a spring. This spring makes it more durable than that of the membrane and also make it more flexible while typing. This keyboard deals with a key switch. This key switch is embedded beneath each and every key on the keyboard which when a key is pressed, it activates the switch below, and sends a signal to record the keystroke. The mechanical keyboard make you feel more comfortable while typing and makes typing smoother than that of the membrane keyboard. The ergonomic keyboard is a type of keyboard that is designed to reduce strain, stress, and enhance the health of the human system. It is not just a different type of keyboard though, but it is optimised to help the health of anyone using it. Most people spend hours on their computer systems typing documents, doing paperwork etc and in the end, they end up having pains, getting stressed out, etc due to the much activity and typing. This keyboard is aimed at reducing that. It is optimised in a way that it provides comfortability and also reduce muscle pain. Also, it is mostly divided into two parts for each hands to freely move and type. The multimedia keyboard is another type of keyboard which is commonly used. This type of keyboard has special buttons which are used to control media. For example, play music, pause, play next, play previous, stop music, increase volume, decrease volume. It's not actually a big deal as almost keyboards now include these features. The keyboards which I have mentioned so far, are all wired keyboards, but as technology continues to grow, keyboard also now support wireless signal transfers and communications. Wireless keyboard makes use of either WiFi or Bluetooth connections. There is no need to connect the keyboard directly to the computer, but just to connect it wirelessly with the bluetooth of the computer or the internal network. With wireless Keyboards, one can stay anywhere close range and type documents, provided you can still see your computer screen to know what you are typing. These types of keyboard are a bit expensive, but are durable, fast, comfortable to use, flexible, and portable. The keyboard is an essential part of the computer system, and based on what you do with your computer, it as adviced you get a comfortable keyboard which will enhance your typing, as well as your health. Cost, portability, size, flexibility, durability are also some of the factors to consider when getting a keyboard. Thank you for taking the the time to read my content. I use a simple, wireless keyboard. I've found it the most ergonomic and best all-rounder. For gaming and working.
Oh wow that's great. I also use a wireless keyboard too, but only when I'm indoors. When I go out, I don't go out with it except I really have to. Thank you @scitech for your contribution. I really appreciate it.
