Ghana 🇬🇭 My Country

Ghana is a country in West Africa sharing borders with Burkina Faso in the North, Togo in the East and Ivory Coast in the West. Ghana was formerly known as the Gold Coast and it gained independence on the 6th of March, 1957. It was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa where Europeans arrived to trade. The Europeans first came to trade in gold and later came to trade in slaves again.

Ghana was the first black African nation to attain independence from colonial power from the British. Ghana was known to be rich in mineral resources especially gold which was the main reason why the Europeans came to trade. Ghana had its first president to be Dr Kwame Nkrumah, who played a major role in gaining independence from their colonial masters.

A constitution allowing a multi-party system was introduced urshering in a period of democracy. A well administered country was established and Ghana is now seen as a model for political and economic reform in Africa.

There are sixteen regions in Ghana and among all these regions Greater Accra is the capital of the country and it is located in the southern part of the country. Ghana has a national flag with colors Red, Yellow and Green with a black star in the the middle of the flag 🇬🇭.

Ghanaians are good in tolerating each other with their differences. No region or tribe feels their better or superior than the other. The Ghanaian military and security service does their job professionally. This is one of the main reason Ghana is peaceful than many other countries. It is the second most peaceful country in Africa.
