It's a pleasure to be taking part in the graphic design class organised by @atim1234 in the Steem Skillshare community, and in this post, I will be presenting answer to the assignment for graphic design software class 2 that was undertaken by @printskill.

QUESTION ONE

Explain the definition of a banner in your own words.

ANSWER

A banner is a long piece of clothing or fabric which act to display an information or message for the desired audience.

Majority of advertising firms majorly use this means for advertising their products. However, great importance must be placed on the desired colour or font for such banner in order for it to be able to capture the attention of the audience that it's meant for.

QUESTION TWO

What is the importance of designing a banner? Explain its usages.

ANSWER

Banners are important for the advertisement of product, and it also plays a great role in passing across information. This is due to the fact that individuals passing through wherever the banner is kept, will easily read and digest the information it's trying to pass to them.

Banners are basically used by almost all sectors of the society. Churches, schools, business owners, among many others all uses banners to showcase information about their products.

It's also important to note that banners are always displayed in places where people walk through. For this reason it's important that the banner has a specific information that the people passing by can glance with just a look. People may not be patient enough to read too many information on a particular banner.

QUESTION THREE

What preparation will you do before designing a banner?

ANSWER

Before preparing a banner for a particular brand or product, there are different elements that must come to mind in order to have the desired banner. Such elements include;

• The Size of the Banner: The size of the banner is important based on the amount of information that is to be placed on it. This information might be in form of images or text as most banners have just a little information in the form of text but with large images of the products being advertised.

• The Colour: Colour is very important in the preparation of a banner, as the attractiveness of the colour combination will play a great role in making a passerby to at least take a glance at the banner.

• The Topography: The font, text alignment, and the words which are to appear in bold or italics, is also very important in designing a banner. The main text which involves the main objective of the banner could be made to be in bold form so as to easily attract the attention of the passerby.

• The Images: The images being used must be specific and has to be for the product being advertised.

QUESTION FOUR

Design a Banner using CorelDraw or other Software. The theme, text, and logos will be the same as per the banner of this class. You have to add your photo instead of me. You can change the layout and design. Share the process with screenshots.
