Hello I am @patience90 welcome to my blog. I want to share with you some interesting things about my country Nigeria but before I go further, I really want to appreciate @abu78 for this wonderful contest to share the individual uniqueness of our countries.

Introduction

A country is a territory of a nation which can be inhabited by people of the same race, language or belief.

Nigeria as a country is located in the West Africa with millions of population, diverse languages, different colours and cultures.
Nigeria was established on the 1st January 1914, got her autonomous federation on 1st October 1950 and finally got her independence on 1st October 1960.
We have 2 unique colours on our national flag (green and white) which stand for agriculture and peace.
Nigeria is a country with 36 states and capitals, so many towns and villages and Abuja is the nation's capital territory located at the center of the country.
We have over 300 languages but 3 languages were agreed to be the major languages namely, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. Naira is our currency in which we transact our businesses with.

Why I cherish Nigeria

There is no place like home. No matter your attainment in life, your wild travels, and level of exposure, you always feel some kind of inner peace whenever you are home.
Therefore I cherish my dearest country Nigeria for the following reasons.

• Weather :- Nigeria is blessed with every kind of weather. The hot Sahara in the north, the rain forest in the east, the cold and snowy weather in North Central of Plateau State.
• Different cultures :- we are blessed with different tribes and cultures that beautifies our country with colourful traditions.
• Foods :- Nigeria is also blessed with all manner of herbs, fruits, vegetables and foods. I doubt if there is any kind of food that cannot be found in Nigeria.

Special things why I cherish Nigeria

There are so many special things I cherish about my country but I'll share only few.

• We stand up for each other. Even if we fight among ourselves, no outsider can intrude and go scot free. We love ourselves in a unique way.
• Our mode of communication. Nigerian pidgin English can never be taken away from us. It's in our blood and everyone speaks it.
• Another special thing I cherish about my country is the unique shape of the map and the two rivers (Benue and Niger) that meets to bring a unique Y shape. It cannot be gotten elsewhere except Nigeria.
