First, I would like to greet each and everyone who took their time to go through my post. There’s only 30 more days for Christmas from now on. No matter what race, what religion they belong to anyone around the world can be hyped during this season. This is the season to celebrate, laugh and enjoy.

Christmas along with the new year bring much more of a family feeling and togetherness. But not everyone can enjoy like some of us. The ones who need food and shelter honestly need something to eat and a place to warm up. This season also emphasizes the feeling of helping the ones in need. I think that’s one of the greatest things that you can do thing time of the year.

I live in Sri Lanka and here there are people who belong to different races and religions. But in Sri Lanka the higher percentage of people are Buddhists. Yet we celebrate each festival, event in all other religions in a very cultural manner annually. All religions and nations live in peace here, so we enjoy celebrating and learning new customs at the same time.

The Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour

Normally on the day of Christmas, Christians go to church in the midnight dressed well. There they spend much time praying and participating in the mass. At home they make nice decorations to celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus Christ. So, the Christians follow these rituals thoroughly since this is their main festival of the year.

They celebrate this on the 25th of December and since it is close to the New Year, they celebrate like a whole week full of fun and excitement.

After Christmas comes the New Year, as a Buddhist we celebrate the New Year with new hopes and new excitement. So, we engage in religious activities like going to the temple with the family in the beginning of a New Year.
