Graphic Design Class 4 | Colour Combination.

Hello dear friends, I'm delighted to be participating in the class 4 of the graphic design class organiser by @atim1234. It was a very interesting class and I really learnt a lot from it.
Now I will write my assignment which was given by the teacher.

Question 1

In your own word, explain what you understand by Colour Combination.

Color combination in simple words means combining two or more colors to create harmony in a designs.

Our choices of colors can make our viewers feel something as each color has its own meaning choosing the right colors is very important just as choosing the right fonts.
A designer needs to understand how color color reacts when mixed with another, which means he needs to study the color wheel.

If we use the wrong color combination for our designs, we will end up creating a different feeling far from what we have in mind to convey.

(2) Explain in your own words the colour wheel concept

The color wheel

The color wheel is a tool used to organize colors and aid the understanding of color relationships. It is used to create color harmony in a design.

A color wheel may have a few hues as 6 and as many as 94 or more... However the most common color wheel has 12 sections.

Parts of the color wheel

Hue
Hue is defined as the characteristics that distinguishes one color from another.
There are twelve colors which make up the outermost ring of the color wheel and these colors appear in their highest chroma or pure state.
There are 3 primary colors, 3 secondary colors and 6 tertiary colors.

Tints, tones and shades for changing color value

Value in color refers to the lightness or darkness of the color. When the color is light, the value is said to be high but when the color is dark the value is said to be low.

Tints
When a hue is blended with white, the lighter value it creates is known as Tint.
Either it is mixed with so much white that the hue becomes faint or with just little touch of white, all are Tints of hue.

Tone
This is created when a hue is being blended with gray. This quiets or tones down the color.
Ant amount of gray mixed in the hus is considered a tone.

Shade
A darker value of a color is known as shade and this is made by adding black to the original. Any amount of black added to the hue is considered a shade.

All 12 hues + all the many Tints, tones and shades is what makes up the colors on the color wheel.

Color combination patterns

The following are the patterns of color combination s are n a color wheel:

Analogous

The analogous colors are seen next each other in the color wheel. These colors are neatly alike. They are just slightly different from one another.

Complementary colors

As the name implies, the complementary colors helps to enhance our designs. It adds more beauty to the the dominant color of our designs. These colors are seen opposite each other in a balance wheel.

Triadic pattern

Thus uses three colors that are evenly spaced in the color wheel. The Triadic colors are very appealing to the eyes and they do stand out in designs.

Tetradic

This color scheme or pattern form a rectangle in the color wheel. It uses two complementary color pairs.

Monochromatic

This uses only one hue or color. For monochromatic pattern, saturation and value is used to create variations

For this design I took into consideration today's lecture.
I thought of colors that could be combinations or that could rhyme and I finally came up with this idea.

I'm so sorry this post came late. I will try and submit earlier in the future.
