CONTEST : WHICH ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILL IS THE MOST DIFFICULT FOR YOU?
Hello #Skillshare!!!
I'm much delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this wonderful contest. I'd like to first of all appreciate @ftz for the initiative in organizing this contest.
Growing up in an English speaking country has made my mastery of the language quite easy and smooth. But besides the advantages of having English as a primary language, I haven't been able to master all the four skills well.
Listening, reading and writing haven't really been much of a problem for me but speaking has always been the most difficult skill for me.
As children, we always had local jargons and slangs we used which have stuck in our diction and vocabulary though aren't right, but is difficult to speak fluently without using them.
With the other skills, I have some few seconds to assess the language and determine whether it's right or wrong but when speaking, words seem to come out before I can assess the correctness of the phrase.
"Practice makes perfect"
Generally, we practice listening, reading and writing more than speaking. For instance, watching a movie, I tend to listen and read more. In school, I read and write more. Speaking comes in less frequent than the others and this in turn makes me less proficient in speaking than the other skills.
I'd like to thank @ftz once more for this contest and I'm inviting my friends @white22, @doctor23 and @iloveakuma to participate in this contest.
