Master the light with manual photo setting - Aperture and focus - Promoting photography course buy one get one free

Hello again dear @steemskillshare people,

This tutorial try to explain the aperture, and focus with digital camera, and more precisely, with mobile digital camera as I tried with the previous tutorial published here in this community.

As all the manual settings, even this one, come from the old style film cameras, with mechanical parts mounted in it.

The new professional digital cameras still keep the aperture settings with mechanical parts, but the mobiles hardly can have this setting mechanical.

Of course the mechanical aperture and focus is far more precise, and it can produce a better quality photo, but this is true by all the settings between a professional reflex and a mobile camera.

So it is important to keep in mind that the mobile camera, just tries to replicate a mechanical setting in a virtual mode.

The aperture level, must be decided together with the ISO (read here my previous tutorial), according, of course with the light in the photo environment, but this time the luminosity you wish to get in your picture is not enough, you need to consider even the depth of the focus, or deep of field.

The deep of filed can be explained with the amount of the area of your photo that can be focused. In other words, if you want to get a large deep filed you will have both the front and the back of your photo focused, otherwise the contrary.

For example in a portrait is better to use a large aperture, so the person in front will be focused and the background behind will be out of focus, but in a landscape photography it is better to use a small aperture to have the whole panorama well focused.

As I said these are concept that are particularly true while using a professional reflex, but with a digital camera installed in a mobile the effects are not dramatic.

Large aperture small ISO

As explained, with a mobile camera the difference is not so big, but you can notice that the first photo is a bit more focused both front and back, while the second is a bit more focused just on the front.

Another simple example

As a interior designer I work a lot with professional photographers and I know how light changes the perception of the sane space. Light is crucial for quality pictures. As we need to create quality posts we need quality pictures. Your lessons are of great importance on Steemit. Thanks 😊

Me encanta tu publicación! Es impresionante la diferencia de la calidad de las fotos con ISO.
