Simulating Green Beard Altruism | UBI Project Update
The current protocol for participating in the UBI project is as follows:
- Create a group of friends willing to participate in the project together
- Create a post with UBI in its title
- Mention at least one of the articles by others in your group, Pick(s) of the Day, within this post
- Include meaningful personal content within this post
- Add the other friends within your group as beneficiaries to receive 10 percent of the reward
- Add UBI as a tag
- Upvote the other members of your group especially their UBI posts
Despite the real success on the financial side of this strategy, it isn't sustainable. The video at the top of this post explains very easily why this will fail.
- The suckers in the steem world, are those people who expend their Steem Power on others and don't receive votes in return
- The true beards set up their UBI groups and receive a rewards from some of their community
- The cowards are selfish with their steem power, only using it to upvote themselves
- The imposters give the indication that they are participating in a altruistic fashion but accumulate resources disproportionally to what they receive.
Fortunately there is an easy way to determine if a person is an imposter on steem. Does the person include a link to any of your posts in theirs? Does the person upvote your posts? Does the person assign you as a beneficiary? That is easy to check, just go to https://steemworld.org/ and check your profile (eg https://steemworld.org/@dwarrilow2002) and check your incoming Beneficiary rewards. Here are my incoming rewards:
Here is a statement of the Beneficiary Rewards for @vectorshore.
Here is a statement of the Beneficiary Rewards for another of my groups.
This is what one sees after moving away from the "Green Beard Altruism" to the "Prisoner's Dilemma" game strategy. The members of @vectorshore's group failed to promote and support his post. As a consequence, I received 10 percent of $ 0.03. The group of people whom I maintain in his group provided him with a beneficiary income of 10 percent of $0.48.
The second group that I maintain with @enveng as a member was more supportive giving her 10 percent of $27.51.
The "Prisoner's Dilemma" game strategy is quite simple. It works by reciprocity. If a person votes for you, you vote for them. If they promote one of your posts, you promote one of their posts. If they make you a beneficiary, you make them a beneficiary.
I want use this week to boost my rep to 60 so i can qualify for intermidate assignment in crypto acedemic
Why don't you make me a 10 percent beneficiary and I will do so in kind.
Ok i will do that
Thank you for understanding
You still remain my best steemit friend

You have to maintain your priorities. Here is a technique for reading that will improve your retention:
SQ3R Method
Here is a post on the method: https://steemit.com/hive-197809/@dwarrilow2002/improve-your-reading-studying-skills-using-the-sq3r-method
I believe I will continue next week with new members (new ubi reporters ) please try and understand
I will be announcing a contest in support of the UBI project this week. I have a few posts that I will be making to describe it and to work out the details.
Ok friend i will definitely partake
And invite friends
Hello @dwarrilow2002, thank you very much for this explanation. Indeed there are imposters and those of us who are trying consistently to write the UBI posts are not getting support from those we set as beneficiaries. It is indeed very discouraging.
I am going to run a contest next week. I am working on the details now. Each group will represent a team. Each of the members of the winning team will receive a transfer of Steem. I'm only sitting at 25 Steem right now, so the first week's rewards will not be very much individually. I'm hoping to raise more Steem in the intervening time to sweeten the pot.
Okay, that would be really great. Hope to see it soon.
