CLUB5050💝||DO I NEED TO CHARGE MY NEW SMARTPHONE BEFORE USING IT???TTH(tip, trick, hack)
designed in canva
We all can relate to the joy of purchasing a new phone....that sweet feeling 🥰
I recall last year when I got my new phone, the memory is still fresh in my head.I was so excited that I quickly started to unbox the phone package to see how the new phone look like😁the moment I got my hand on the phone,I quickly switched it on and was about going through every nook and cranny of the phone trying to look for any new features this new device came with and then suddenly the thought hit me.....
"DO YOU WANT TO SPOIL THE BATTERY??"...
Lot of laughs, that was when I realized that I needed to charge the battery before I start using it so as not to spoil it.
So I quickly switched it off like everyone one in this community would have done so as to preserve the life of my dear battery 😁.

But is this really true or just a misconception??
Will your new phone battery get spoilt because you used it before charging it??
Don't worry,you are about to find out🤗
Let's talk about the phones battery 🔋
There have been alot of controversy surrounding this issue and I feel I should address it here today.
The mobile phone battery that we use today are made of lithium ion unlike phones in the past that are made with nickel.
The battery in our phones today do not necessarily need to be charged before use because the manufacturer of these phones make sure to charge this battery to about 60%, making it unnecessary for users to charge a new phone before use.

Your new phone battery won't get spoilt simple because you used it before charging it.
Although this fact was true during the era of nickel battery.
This is because battery made with nickel tend to suffer from what is termed as "memory syndrome effect" and so it must be charged fully or partially before use.
This memory effect affect battery made with nickel and it is said to the the laziness and forgetfulness of battery which causes it to hold less charge and only recall lesser charge. They tend to loss their maximum energy capacity when they are slightly or partially discharged before they are being recharged.
source
So in other word, you have to charge this kind of battery to the fullest before using it.Once you make use of the battery before charging it and it discharges to a certain low energy level, the battery automatically memorises the less charge and hold less charge no matter how much you charge it, but once you charge it to the fullest before use,it memorises the energy stored level for later.
That is the difference between battery made with lithium ion and nickel..
So now I guess it is safe to say that you can use your new smartphone without charging and your battery won't get spoilt except the new phone battery is made with nickel which of course is no more in production and isn't use for making phones battery anymore.
I hope this was educating and exhaustive.
I'm glad you learnt so something new today.
Thanks for reading through 🤗
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this👍
Hi @dibie thanks, very informative and educative post it was.
Thanks once again for opening our eyes.
You are welcome my friend🤗
The lithium battery has changed everything. But in the early 2000's, we also followed the tradition of charging phones even with Li-Ion batteries because it was instructed by the shopkeepers. Even today, many people still follow this. This article reminds me of my uncle's first phone, a Nokia 3310, and also my first introduction to mobile technology.
Lol,of course many people are still of the opinion of charging batteries before using it due to the fact that it has always been so during the "nickel" battery era.
Old habits dies hard!
There is no problem in charging the new battery before using it...it is still a win win situation.😊I just feel everyone should understand that if the situation doesn't create the opportunity to charge the battery then they can use it without being scared of spoiling the battery😊just like the popular misconception.
Thank you @tarpan for dropping by🤗
I appreciate your comment.
This is value dished out on a platter of gold.. well I never knew this until now. However I think charging a new phone when you really can should be encouraged but if you can't as a result of some inevitable reason then this write up here will be of great benefit as it already clears the doubt and fear people have when it comes to not charging a new phone. Thanks for sharing.
My point exactly, alot of people feel it is a taboo to use a new smartphone without charging it which clearly it isn't.
I believe with this post now,we all can do away with the misconception about smartphones battery and stop being scared by the mere thought of ruining our battery because we used it before charging it.
Thanks for dropping by @lhorgic🤗
Finally found an answer to this misconception after years of trying to find out if it was true.. interesting to read also.. i will resteem this post
