THE VANISHING HALF
This book is very important to me it is my favorite book so far im recent years. It is a great one per say. It was written by Brit Bennett The story line or Prose is actually interesting. Twin Sisters with contrasting ideologies who escaped home at 16. Desire and Stella where twins. Desire is black and supports the black race. She loves the black race and upholds it. She got married to a black man too. On the contrary her other twin Stella lightskinned black but she passes as white. She stays in the white neighbourhood which restrains blacks. They part ways on the long run due to differences but later gets reconcilled. Reece is transgender and he had sorrowful moments on the novel. He waded his sorrows laying on the water after Andy's death. I love the novel so very much.
WHY I LOVE THE BOOK
It teaches that people must act so rationally. Living your life, sacrifices should be made, living your life in such a way as to keep yout life private from people who would not accept your tenets and beliefs. It wraps up issues on Identity, family and race in a thoughtful way. It literally portrays racism and it was a bold step to combating the deadly social dogma.
Despite being twins, they had different thoughts. It is an interesting novel. Thanks for your participation!
