Some advice for recording music at home| Burn steem

Hello to Steemit readers! As a programmer I work with computers but my other hobby is music.

I have some experience in recording music. That is a very interesting skill which I want to share with you.

There are simple ways of recording and difficult ways.

The easiest thing is to record a track in a smartphone.

However the phone is not sharpened for recording music. The quality of such a track will be low because of low power of the device and it is not convenient to work.

Also it is not possible to connect external tools. Therefore a computer is a "must have" if you want to record music.

Laptop or stationary it is your choice. For small projects I think an average processor power and at least 8GB of memory is enough. Plus you need music software – DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

To record an electronic track without vocals and acoustic instruments this may be enough.

It will only be necessary to buy headphones and not expensive studio monitors and a MIDI keyboard for recording notes. But you can also draw them with the mouse.

You also need a microphone if you want to record vocals. There are 3 types of microphones used for recording music: dynamic, condenser and USB microphones.

A dynamic microphone is suitable for such styles as rap, recording heavy tracks, aggressive vocals at home.

It is less sensitive and more inert. It catches less reflections from the walls.

It may be Shure 58 or Sennheiser E 845 . They can also be used to shoot loud instruments: electric guitar or bass with combo. In addition they are cheaper and they do not need power supply.

However, condenser microphones with a large diaphragm are more versatile.

They may be used for vocals and for recording acoustic instruments like guitar, piano, flute, accordion.

For such a microphone to work a 48 V power supply must be provided on the sound card. From the price category of about 100 Euro, I personally can recommend Audio-Technica AT2020 or Behringer TM1.

There is also a new category of microphones with a USB interface, which is a microphone that does not need a sound card, it sticks directly into the USB connector of the computer.

They are mainly used for podcasts, but they are also suitable for vocals of a music track, sound control.

If you want to do this the microphone must have a headphone output but you can't stick an electric guitar or synthesizer into it, you can only digitize the sound of the microphone itself.

This is all for today. Next time I will continue.

I decided to try to participate in the innovation of the site and transfer 25% to the account @null putting the tag #burnsteem25. Let's see what happens.
