I'm writing on my favourite book and I bet if you follow me closely you will create history. In my post, I will write on what my favourite book is, I'll make a brief summary of the book, I'll tell why it's my favourite, I'll tell you why the book inspired me, how long I read it, where I read it, and how the story changed my perspective drastically. In my writing I'll try as much as possible to be precise and straight to the point avoiding writing the entire story.

My favorite Book

My favorite book is "Tears of Joy" a book that is momentous and emotional. The author of this book is Sarah. U. Inwang published in Nigeria [2005]. The characters in this book are fictitious and the protagonist is Udo.

Udo was an orphan at an early age of eight. That's condition made him leave in the abode of his uncle who couldn't protect him from the cruelty and wickedness of his aunty. He was subjected to servitude and abscond from his uncle's abode. Imagine a child of eight climbing a palm tree to cut palm fruit without even eating. He's ordeals in life we mostly channeled or exacerbated by the inhumane treatment by those in more privileged and recognised positions. Udo's this position changed for good for his first son Nkereuwem who salvaged the deplorable condition of his nuclear family. Udo suffered injustice is from one place after another looking forward to fit in the unjust world.

Imagine you are of aged and Kids usually watch and laugh at you as you take your bath.

Imagine sleeping in someone's varender because you don't have a place you call your own.

Imagine taking risks just to feed and pass the night.

His case will always be a story at heart. His story letter change when his first son was to a very distinguished position in the society and occupy the compound where Udo once served as a domestic servant and where Nkereuwem was delivered of by his mother.

Why the book is my favorite

The book it's my favourite because the story tells a lot about striving in an unjust world. It is the end and not the beginning that justifies. It is much loved by me because of the expressed emotion and turmoil. It also impressed on me to be fair with others irrespective of their status and also to abhor enslavement and all forms of maltreatment to others. In every suffering, there's always a blessing that's why the book was named Tears of Joy. He wept joyfully on seeing the end of his past life.
And also the way he lived his life compelled me to read the book over and over again.

Where I read the book

I read this book when I was in jss 1. It still remains one of the kind to me. No book has moved me so far than this one. Life experiences is what everyone will experience either good or bad.

How the story change my perspective

The book help me see that no matter one status of family background, we must have caught respect, love and fairness to them. Tomorrow is very hard to predict. And I have also come to learn that no matter how hard you struggle in life, there will always be a way and an handkerchief to wipe Your Tears. The end and not the beginning is what else. Through this book, I've come to see the world differently and how we can adapt and endure life-threatening situations without giving up.

The phrase that particularly interest me is "As he walked out of the park, with his portmanteau". Udo faced tribulations in the flesh. He moved about with his portmanteau from one city to another after being unjustly treated.

Imagine you going with such every now and then, to people's varender and on the road side, even in the gutter.

Another sentence that captured my interest was,

It took me two days to complete the book and the book will always be a book of my heart. Meditating on how a boy at an early age endured life threatening situations and how is tears was wiped at the end gives me hope in this imperfect world.

Hello @ bossj23 excellent book that you present to us. Today there should be no slavery. However, outside there are many people who still suffer abuse and neglect, the most important thing is the interior of the people and how they decide to get out of such circumstances, it is always good to remember that God can help us at times like this. You have made a very interesting post.
