Do you know that diabetes is a global epidemic? with 463 Million people currently living with it globally

Diabetes is a condition that results in high level of sugar in your blood that leads to the following

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS

~Excessive urination
~Excessive thirst
~Excessive eating
~Excessive Sugar in the blood
~Sugar in the urine
~Loosing weight without trying to
~Dryness of skin
~Unexplainable weakness

If they notice these signs, go check it out to rule out diabetes.

The Process

Pancreas is an organ in the body, its cells produces insulin which is a hormone that regulates the sugar level in the blood

When you eat carbohydrate-based food or sugary drink, your pancreas produces insulin to help transport the sugar from the blood into your cells to give you energy.

The more sugar you eat, the more work you give the pancreas, when it becomes overworked, it can grow weak and cause the cells to die then production of insulin either reduces or stops completely

When there’s no or not enough insulin to regulate the the blood sugar level, the sugar remains high in the blood stream then the person is said to have diabetes.

TYPES (Type 1)

(Juvenile or Insulin dependent diabetes)
~Occurs in younger people & adults 60yrs and bellow
~The páncreas produces little or no insulin
~The person gets insulin injection for life, which is why it is called insulin dependent.
~Taking table to reduce the sugar level may not be the best in type 1 if pancreas has stopped producing insulin

Typep 2

Occur in adults 60yrs and above but can occur in younger people with obesity
~The pancreas still produces insulin but may not be enough to regulate the high sugar level in the blood
~Losing weight, exercising and proper diet can help manage this type without depending on insulin
~Tablet to stimulate the production of insulin by the pancreas would be more beneficial in type2

Gestational Diabetes:
~Occurs during pregnancy and May disappear after child birth
~May also linger after childbirth if neglected
~Prenatal and postnatal care should cover this

WHAT TO DO

If You Do Not Have Diabetes…

~Be mindful of sugary food and drinks, to avoid over laboring your pancreas
~Avoid toxic substances that can damage your organs
~Lose some weight if you need to
~Exercise regularly to keep healthy
~Pay attention to good nutrition (fruits and vegetables)
~Watch your alcohol intake (the cells of the pancreas breaks down alcohol into toxic products that damages the pancreas, thereby affecting its function, including production of insulin)

If You Have Diabetes…

~Be sure to see a doctor for a suitable treatment, for proper control
~Take your medication without abuse
~Pay attention to good nutrition including fruits and vegetables
~Exercise regularly to improve circulation

~Do not wear very tight foot wears to avoid pressure on the blood vessels (Diabetes affects the blood vessels and reduces blood flow to the foot, which is why people with diabetes usually have wound that never heals at their foot .0

~Always massage your foot with warm water, this helps to increase blood circulation to the foot
~Avoid crossing your legs while sitting down, this cuts of the free flow of blood to the legs
~If you have a wound by any chance, endeavor to take vitamin C supplement daily, it helps in wound healing
~Be careful with your pedicure and manicure to avoid ingrown nails (do not bite your fingers ppp)

~Always get adequate rest to relax your brain and nerves
~Check your blood sugar level regularly and take the necessary action, to keep the sugar level normal.

Diabetes is not and should never be a death sentence, it is lack of understanding of the types and process of diabetes, coupled with poor management, that is sending people to their early grave

You can prevent Diabetes
You can manage Diabetes
And God can heal Diabetes
