DOOM | Your favorite childhood video game | Entry to Best of India Contest

I remember the time when the arcade boxes in the shops and the shopping malls were the thing and we had not much access to the computer at that time. And computers used to be expensive. At that time the mitashi and nintendo cheap boxes were the norm in india.

I came across games like Contra, Mario and other oldies in that time. Then after few years I met this beast called DOOM. It was the start of the real strong genre after this. Later Quake becomes part of this FPS with multiplayer option. Still DOOM remains strong beast over the years.

So DOOM is my favorite childhood game and now that I am an adult yet the DOOM franchise continues to evolve that new generation can see and play.

Why DOOM as my favorite game?

DOOM started as a game which was focused on the narrative of killing various bizzare creatures in order to survive. People had no idea how worst it could get until they have seen the recent version of the game.Like the new versions of the game make you move and run forever until you survive. The multiplayer gets even more fun as well.

Another thing about the doom series is that as with each sequel the graphics is improved and so does the way we kill the creatures and find out way to survive. I found that DOOM is specially good at that part. You just keep on playing it for perfect set of survival.

Enemy and Graphics

As I said previously that the graphics just gets better from the DOOM 1 all the way to the recent DOOM. And you would literally love how the progress is made on that front. I love the game for the same reason. I'd definitely recommend you to check the graphics of modern games.

Enemies are scary. No matter which game you play. They just continue to get worst and also harder to kill. And even better part about the enemies is that often the randomness in the enemy encounter is so deep that you just can't imagine how they would attack.

Soundtrack

Be it the old soundtrack or the new. The game has some of the good artists who have given their soundtrack to the game. And you would get the goosebumps while playing the game. And it just gets better as the each sequel has the music of better quality in it. For example check the doom eternal soundtrack.

That's all. The game has struck some chord into my head and I have been following the game series for some time now. I hope to continue spending time and money following this series.
