Movie Review (K.G.F Chapter 1)

Rocky is an ambitious boy who wants to die as the richest and most powerful person. He traveled on missions from the streets of Bombay to the KGF fields. And his story was resold by a journalist who prolonged his life in the 1980s.the narrative in the first part builds the character of Rocky as the maverick mastermind who will not stop for anything until he reaches his mission. While there is a sense of temporary closure in the first chapter of the film, one also leaves the hall yearning for more. KGF surely seems to have delivered what it set to achieve.

The thing about power is that you can’t have just enough of it. He knocks out all top gangsters and reaches so close to clinching Bombay underworld from its current ruler, who is also Rocky’s boss. The boss of the boss makes Rocky an offer he can’t refuse. "Kill the elephant I show you and you can keep Bombay."

the impressively-mounted sets make up for Prashanth’s flimsy storyline. Composer Ravi Basrur lifts up the scenes with his terrific background orchestra. We know it is not easy for filmmakers to kill their darlings and especially ones that were shot on the expensive sets of a gold mine. But, sometimes, they have to make some hard choices to enrich their work. KGF could have been a very different experience with sharp and tight editing.

When I asked Prashanth, why did he split KGF into two parts, he replied, “When I finished writing the film there was two beginnings, two intervals, and two endings. So it became easy for us to split it.”

And then I asked, “Do you have enough material for the second part?” He said, “Absolutely. We love the second part more than the first part.”
