5 Reasons Why Curling Is The Best Sport
Do you like ice? What about brooms? Are you an active adult and love shuffleboard at your retirement community? Sounds like curling is the sport for you! Here are 5 reasons why:
- Are you more comfortable in the cold? Sure, you can play ice hockey, but that's a rough sport. Curling is the only logical sport for you. In the curling arena, it is cold.
- Do you have a broom and have finished sweeping the dust out of your house? Or maybe you have just too many brooms and don't know what to do with such a vast collection of brooms! "Take it to the curl!" (that's the secret chant of all the best curling players (aka "curlers")). In curling, you can use a broom to curve the curling stone on its path by sweeping the ice.
- Curling is the evolution of shuffleboard (which everyone loves). It's basically team shuffleboard on ice with brooms. No more really needs to be said there.
- According to wikipedia, curling is also called "chess on ice", thus making curling "The Ice King's Game". Game of Thrones players will rejoice knowing they finally found the game for them!
- You can do it at the Olympics! Think you got what it takes to be the best curler in the entire world? Go get that Olympic Gold! (just make sure you show up at the Winter Olympics, not the Summer version). I have no idea how to get into the Olympics, pretty sure you just show up and sign up for the curling.
So give curling a shot, it's quite the cool sport!

Curling! Till today I still can't seems to wrap my head around the sport. I kinda find it boring though (No offence), 'cause I don't really understand how they score a point. Am always suprise when I see them jubliating in the stadium.
I think you want to get the rock closest to the target. @mraggaj probably knows more!
I'm in Canada, so I have to know curling - I still find it funny to see in the Olympics :)
