Now it's Official! Barcelona appoint Real Betis gaffer Quique Setien as the new manager
On FC Barcelona's official twitter profile, it is written that Quique Setién will be the new coach of FC Barcelona. Also, the Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo wrote on its website that Quique Setién had been selected as the new coach for "Blaugrana." It happened after a board meeting Monday afternoon at Camp Nou, where President Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sports Director Eric Abidal attended. Here the new coach profile was discussed and the choice fell on Quique Setién.
And late Monday night it became so official. On FC Barcelona's twitter profile, the club wrote that an agreement had been reached with Ernesto Valverde to terminate the contract.
However, with the new coach style of play being an attacking high press from the midfield as seen when he was at Real Betis, it's now left for him to decide if he can trust the likes of Sergio Busquet and Vidal in the midfield due to their agility, and instead start with the the young De Jong and Perez, with an assurance of getting more game time.
