Cruising through Market Friday Challenge

This is an inspiration from Denise @dswigle to join the #MarketFriday Challenge! If you haven't followed her yet; please do so now as she is one of those genuine encourages with a true heart and soul to support people.

Instead of the usual physical market that I've always shared with you, I thought I'll give it a bit of a twist. Let me share with you my experience of online shopping for my dinner in Vietnam. Now, you may think what's so interesting about it... just another Grab Food app. Well, not if the app is in the local Vietnamese language and the only way for translation is using another phone and putting it on top of each other to see the English translation. Or I could just order based on the photos but it's not that easy.

Grab Food in Saigon is very popular; almost everyone uses Grab Food and they basically order anything from drinks to food to textiles to accessories to everything else. I've always just stuck to my usuals. Same restaurant and same food. Not so much of an adventurer when it comes to my main meals.

Then again, it's because I love this particular dish on the menu. I get a Fried Rice and a seafood, vegetable dish. Both are tasty and just the right portion for me. I think I must've ordered at least three times since I've been on self-quarantine. Plus, it cost me no more than VND100,000 = USD 4.27 = MYR 18.38 which is a fair price for a good meal. It's got seafood like prawns and squid in the dish so it's really worth it.

So, if it comes to the point that we're indeed on complete lock-down, I'll be sharing more online marketing for groceries too, which they have it too. No matter what, I still enjoy the real physical market where the excitement truly lies.

This is the one tag and weekly challenge that I try to make a point to join; not to mention that I'm also a fanatic when it comes to sight seeing or shopping in any form of market - indoors, outdoors, food, textile, accessories and etc.

It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe!
There's so many different cultures and beauty in this world and the more we travel and open up our eyes, the more we gain.

It's easy to participate :

  1. Go to the market! Any market will do! Food, Clothing, Plant or Animal, if you wish. You can go to the zoo or an art auction. Anywhere or anything that you pay money for a service.
  2. Take pictures! Be creative (or not)
  3. Tell us a little bit about the market, what brought you here?
  4. Post the picture(s)
  5. Don’t forget to hashtag it! #MarketFriday by @dswigle
  6. Minimum 250 words

That is just great! What a challenge and a little bit of excitement too! :) I am not a huge fan of ordering online like that either, but, it looks like it worked out well for you and I thought that was very funny, having to use two phones to translate the dishes.

Thank you again so much for being part of the challenge and always putting forth your best! It has been awesome!

#MarketFriday loves you!
