RE: The Tino Take - Take 58

Interesting idea for #steemlinks.

Will you be setting up a Community (or Communities) for this?

Maybe by topic - for example SteemLinks - World Politics.

A variant that might gain more traction and acceptance would be curated and commented digests of links on particular issues of the day (or week).

I have to say that I really appreciate your interest in this idea. I had imagined that the Steemit Team would not like an idea like this because it does not fit the model of Proof-of-Brain, and also because it will undoubtedly invite more abuse. But I believe something like this could not only allow us to share better information on Steemit, but also attract new users who are tired of the rampant censorship in so many of the other more popular social media platforms.

I originally considered making this into a Steemit Community, but in all honesty, I am not a good admin, nor a good curator. So I have decided to create the #steemlinks tag as a way of launching this new approach to sharing quality content on Steemit.

Your idea, however, has greatly captured my attention because it brings to mind your previous proposal written in 1000 DAYS OF STEEM : Curation Experiment - SteemCurator For A Day...
! I will brainstorm with my Country Representative @girolamomarotta who has become an amazing help to me in organizing my insights and ideas into workable projects. We're on a roll, and we have no intentions of getting distracted from our focus on increasing the user base by making this platform more attractive to those who are looking for an alternative to the mainstream social networks. Thank you as always for your constant support, we would not have come this far without your encouragement!

We find the Steem Communities better for content discovery than just using # tags.

And it is easier for us to find posts for curation when they are in a Community.

You could bring in extra MODs to help manage a Community. That would also help spread the word, and engage people who might not have found an interest niche on Steem so far.

The Proof of Brain can be retained through the selection of links for a digest for a particular topic, and even more so through adding a commentary.

Thank you

The Steemit Team

Good point!
Steem Links
I'll start dressing it up in the coming days, and will begin to promote it and incorporate your ideas from 1000 DAYS OF STEEM : Curation Experiment - SteemCurator For A Day...

It might be good to focus on one particular subject area to begin with to see if it can pull in a particular audience.

Do you have a feel for what topic areas might be most popular?

To be honest, even if I don't feel that it would be the best subject, looking at the list you provided in your post, the most popular would be Finance and Crypto. Steemit is still, by far, a hub for crypto-enthusiast and not content-enthusiast. In my opinion, the problem is not the topic, but rather the reward-chasing syndrome. If we asked Steemians to share links about Finance and Crypto with the promise of being curated, we would, as Girolamo rightly stated, be navigating a minefield of spam, vacuity and frivolity.

I need to reflect on this, and brainstorm with Girolamo, but am always grateful for whatever insights you may have.

Always a pleasure collaborating with the best Team Steemit has ever had!!!

Yes, navigating, controlling and managing potential junk posting will be an issue.

It will be an interesting moderation challenge...

Re topics don't be constrained by our list, best to go with what will interest you most to begin with.

Here I am, sorry but I missed this conversation.
This is a really interesting intuition from Tino...in the last few weeks, I too have been trying to understand how we can become more attractive and what we can "steal" from the most successful social networks to gain visibility to a wider audience.
And this possibility of sharing and spreading can be very strategic.
I heard the description of the idea while listening to Curione Live, Tino's show in Italian, and I am convinced that Steemlinks can be an intelligent innovation. It could help us have better SEO, especially if the articles will focus on highly actual and popular topics.
But we must also be aware that we will be going through a minefield and that there will be a lot of spam.
However, I am available to help. I thank Tino for his brilliant mind and the Steemit Team for their cooperation.
@steemcurator01 If you follow us like this, you make us want to put one project on the table a day! ✌️

We do like hearing about new projects !
