MIND-CONTROLLED drone prototype takes flight

Not remote, but mind-controlled! Check out the latest working prototype of a drone that can be operated by your mind, from defense company Ultra Electronics.

So how exactly does it work? All the pilot has to do is focus their attention and eyes on specific circles on a computer screen to guide the drone where it should go.

Although the laptop does have a webcam, it is not used to look at the user – the focus of the mind on the circles instructs the drone what to do via a brain sensor worn on the user’s head.

The goal is to turn this into a fully wearable device and test it on the battlefield within the next year.
