Koh Rong Island the day after the night storm

Although our stay on the island fell on the dry period, in the region of Southeast Asia you are never guaranteed beautiful sunny weather. There was always a break in the weather during our stay.

Chociaż nasz pobyt na wyspie przypadał na okres suchy, to w rejonie Azji południowo-Wschodniej nigdy nie masz gwarancji pięknej słonecznej pogody. Zawsze podczas naszego pobytu pojawiało się załamanie pogody.

Usually these are short downpours, sometimes lasting all night, but then the rainfall is very dynamic, with gusty winds resembling a hurricane. Then staying in the sea, because it is warm, always becomes dangerous, just like staying under palm trees. A soaked palm branch can weigh several dozen kilograms, and when it falls, it will break our bones at best.

Zazwyczaj są to krótkotrwałe ulewy, czasami trwające całą noc, ale opady wtedy są bardzo dynamiczne, z porywistym wiatrem przypominających huragan. Wtedy przebywanie w morzu, bo ciepłe jest zawsze staje się niebezpieczne, tak jak przebywanie pod palmami. Namoknięta gałąź palmy może ważyć kilkadziesiąt kilogramów, i gdy spadnie w najlepszym wypadku połamie nam kości.

On the island of Koh Rong we had the ojasion to experience such an all-night storm. The roof of our bugalov creaked and it was hard to sleep.

Na wyspie Koh Rong mieliśmy okazję przeżyć taką całonocną nawałnicę. Dach naszego bugalowu aż trzeszczał i trudno było zasnąć.

After the night storm, I decided to go for a morning walk on the beach. I visited a nearby place called White Beach. The landscape has changed dramatically there, compared to the previous day. The sea was choppy, though the color was still emerald green, and the sand on the beach had been beautifully smoothed. Well, in a few days we're changing the island to an even more beautiful one.

Po nocnej nawałnicy postanowiłem wyjść na poranny spacer po plaży. Odwiedziłem niedaleko położone miejsce o nazwie White Beach. Krajobraz zmienił się tam diametralnie, w porównaniu do dnia poprzedniego. Morze było wzburzone, choć kolor dalej miało szmaragdowy, a piasek na plaży został pięknie wygładzony. Cóż, za kilka dni zmieniamy wyspę na jeszcze piękniejszą.
