Vocalist Chris Martin wrote "The Scientist" after listening to George Harrison's song "All Things Must Pass".

When interviewed about the song, Martin said, "It's just about women. It's funny how, when you like someone, everything that was on your mind disappears."
The Scientist
is the second single from the English band Coldplay from their second studio album, A Rush of Blood to the Head. The song was written by vocalist Chris Martin. It is a ballad with a piano chord accompaniment about a man who loves science and apologizes to a woman saying he loves her. It was released as a single on November 4, 2002 and specified tenth on the UK Singles Chart and eighteenth on the Billboard Hot 100.

Creo que conocí a esta banda por este gran clásico y éxito de la agrupación, la primera vez que vi el vídeo me costó entenderlo porque el final era el principio y la canción y las imágenes estaban contrapuestas.
