Malaysia 2009 Royal Malaysian Navy 75th Anniversary RM100 Gold Commemorative coin

This commemorative coin is issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) .
The RMN has progressed extensively since its establishment in 1934 , before the outbreak of world war II. The naval force which then began with wooden ships, given by the British Government, has now successfully transformed itself into a potent force, well-equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology.
The RMN achieved a historic milestone with the acquisition of two SCORPENE submarines, namely KD TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN and KD TUN RAZAK. The procurement of these two PRIME MINISTER CLASS submarines is part of RMN's strategic intent in building a strong naval force with the capabiities of operating in all the four dimensions of maritime warfare .
With the significant advancements made, today, the RMN can pride itself with having the latest technological capabilities and the expertise i carrying out its entrusted responsibility of safeguarding the sovereignty of Malaysian Maritime waters as well as elevating Malaysia as a credible Maritime Nation.
