Importance and Benefits of splitting firewood with a splitting maul

Firewood is a real integral part of our lives. Our homestead has plenty of trees, and our house is plenty warm. The trick is to doing some splitting by hand.

We use a maul to bust up larger pieces that burn slower. It helps to have a hotter fire for longer...and Stacie likes it!
