Upgrading Our Wander Rig
I know I say this all the time, but today I am talking about something that is a bit different. I am showing off some of the upgrades to the Wander Rig. Our trailer got a nice face lift yesterday!
So our nomadic adventure started back in 2018. We sold our homestead and hit the road. We first started in an RV, and quickly decided that it was not the right tool for the job. Especially after it started breaking down and costing money...and Stacie D ripped the handle off the inside because she was scared haha.
So after going back to Southern Missouri to sell the RV, we also bought back our old suburban. From there we headed over to Bass Pro Shop and got some nice camping supplies, but didn't really have any place for it.
We were all crammed into the suburban with all our stuff, and now our new stuff haha. We made it up to Wisconsin to visit some friends, and that is where we found this little gem.
It has done such a great job. We hauled it coast to coast with no issues...except when I almost tore the jack off in the Moab dessert. While on the road we kept our things all sorted out. The trailer was still a bit of an unorganized mess, and it was a bit of a struggle.
So now here we are, we have a shop I can work it, and we have the tools with us to get things done. Stacie D told me a couple of things that she would like to have in the trailer, and I designed it all. I modified the lower shelf in the front of the trailer, and it is now 36" deep so our bags can fit better.
I built shelves on both sides so that we could comfortably fit milk crate type containers for food and different things. I also modified the top of the trailer, and moved rails around so we can attach our roof top storage container.
Over all....this thing is amazing. I can remember what it was like to use before.....now I can only imagine how amazing it is going to be.
I hope you all are enjoying our adventure. Stay tuned for more excitement to come!
Be well
