YouTube To Start Charging Content Creators?

Following on from Yesterday’s video speculating about if Google is running out of space, I had been putting some thought into what Google may do if they lost their Section 230 protection in the US.
I think they may start charging for many of their currently ‘free’ services. One of such services is YouTube, including the privilege of uploading content to their platform. So apart from charging people to view the content, they may chose to introduce a tiered system to ‘host’ for files on their platform.
I even did the classic click-bait thumbnail with the facial expression, LOL. I’m learning.

Great video, when we are the Google and Facebook products ( if you use them ) then they need to find ways to squeeze more out of you with their so-called free platforms, thank goodness for DTube and other DApp video content sites, to give the real freedom back to us.

I'm still very glad that google exists, if not for them before they got big they were a scrappy startup trying to sell in office search applicances/servers - grandad is a little old in the tooth now but it's always gonna be an internet OG, just now they want money for life support, poor grandad.

I both love and hate social media. I am at a point that as a content creator I really am lost when it comes to share my content on centralised platforms and the use of mainstream platforms. Google have a real empire and we all relay so much in them that is scary.
There are some other video platforms with user-generated content that have gone to a completely pay-for method for both creators and users and they basically aren't getting any adoption at all. Services like Netflix can charge because they offer high-level professional premium content, as opposed to used-generated content. If you want to grow a video sharing or any social media platform it has to both be free and offer a way for content creators to earn from their videos.
