Surprise and promise are used interchangeable in our today’s society. At some point in time, we either choose to surprise or promise someone a token. This act might be done through merit, appreciation or love. For surprise, it’s done without a second coming back to the matter.
But promise is a two-sided word. It is one thing to promised or be promised but it’s another thing for fulfillment. In a situation the promise is not met, what should we do? Let’s find out the fact in this article.
Have I ever been surprised or promised before?
I have been promised and surprised before. In this context, I’ll really concentrate on the surprise aspect.
- On my birthday last year, I received a credit alert. On checking the sender details, I noticed that it was my aunt. During that period, I was over the moon because the money was beyond what I had on my wildest imagination. I called to appreciate her and she told me to use the money for my upkeep.
- Another surprise was the upvote from Steem Curator 01. Ever since I joined steemit on December 2021, I receive an upvote from this top curator on December 2023.
How was your reaction to the surprise or promise?
In regards to the two surprises, I will conclude that I was on cloud 9 during that period. I tried to contain the happiness but it was too much for the containment. Someone will say that I was mad with excitement.
Have you ever surprised or promise someone? Expatiate
For me, I have surprise and promise someone a token before. The secret behind those initiative is that I fulfill everything I wish to give out. In the aspect of promise, I tried as much as possible to fulfill the promise I state earlier.

Describe a scenario you were promised and it fails
Last year, I was promised a contract by my senior colleague. He said something about a contract of freelancing writing. He even asked me that I should write a sample writeup of at least 5000 words. Since the pay was convincing and I needed money for my school issues, I started working on it. After completing the stressing work, I heard that the work contract was terminated. I was depressed because the promise was just a huge one.

Do you believe in the statement “a promise is a debt”?
In my theory about this belief, I’ll say that promise is partially or not a debt. The partial form comes in when the person to be given has full merit of that promise. This implies that he or she perform a deed to the other partner. It is not a debt when it was just promised on common ground. The person has full right to take off his or promise.

While a surprise is most times unexpected, a promise is to some extent, expected.
Giving out a word in form of a promise is one thing, but fulfilling that word takes a disciplined and committed mind to do that.
These days, it's difficult to find someone that says "A" and keeps to that "A" to the very end. Most people just use the word promise like it's any other thing without actually intending to keep to it.
It is important and also feels good, being able to keep to one's promises.
Thanks for the invite and good luck with the contest!
