Steem Cameroon Contest - World Immunization Day (Nigeria)

Greetings valued steemians, it's my honour to be a participant of this contest. Permit me to use this opportunity to appreciate @steem-cameroon for the consistency to ensure that this contest doesn't goes into extinct. I vividly remember when i was vaccinated. Even though, I wasn't sick or feeling any sign of infection, my mother still insisted on taking me there.

The nurse on duty pierced the syringe into my buttock and in the matter of seconds, the process was completed. At home, I remembered asking her why and told me that it's function was to prevent any. In the today world, vaccination is done periodically for different age grades. The question is What and Why is it done?. Let's find out.

In the ancient times, people including infants, children and adults were dying in a fast rate. This is because of the sickness they were experiencing due to ignorance. Scientists discovered that vaccines that can reduce mortality rate caused by these deadly diseases.

At first, the poor didn't have access to it due to lack of financial power. That's United Nations Organization step in to mark November, 10 to help popularize immunization. This has help the poor masses to have access to it.

In my Country Nigeria, World Immunization Day is celebrated in form of awareness. The Federal Government in collaboration with the Foreign bodies and NGOs aid in this awareness form of celebration. The medical body involved do take time to enlighten the people on various diseases and ways of preventing it.

With this, the people are armed with knowledge making them resistant to future attacks. The highlight of this event include immunization for certain diseases. This immunization are usually free credits to the funding made.

This day is very important in the life of the medical teams and the general public. Here is why this day is tagged important:

• Enlightening of the Public: The general public is enlightened and taught how a sickness occurs and ways to disassemble future attacks. As a wise man said Knowledge is a great weapon of life, the people are equipped with this weapons against any sickness.
• Free Immunization: In the normal world, some immunization can't be afford by the poor due to its expensive nature. Thanks to World Immunization Day, this immunization are delivered to the public for free. It's means that no one is paying a dime for the treatment.

The issue that is worth to be commemorated is Refugees right. Refugees are people who left their country due to issues like wars, famine etc. These people are not treated well in some countries. They are handled like animals and this issues need to be look into. I strongly endorse November, 11 to honour their rights as human beings.
