Marriage for Life or Contract Marriage

Hello steemian friends, I'm @wasa2020 from Nigeria. I'm so happy today to share my entry in the contest of this community today with the title "Marriage for Life or Contract Marriage". Thank you @chant, I love the topic of this contest and that is why I have decided to share my participation.

What is your understanding of the statement “for better and for worse till death do us part”?

The statement for better and for worse till death do us part is indeed a very deep statement which when considered very well needs more time and understanding to digest. Often when I attend weddings, I hear the man and the woman making this promise in front of the congregation and in the presence of God.

In my little understanding, since I'm not yet married, I see the statement as a commitment between the two parties to always be with each other throughout the journey since it is a school of no graduation.

The statement means that no matter the condition of the other party, the other will always be present to help or assist in any way they can till one or both of them dies and leave the world. So the statement is a statement of lifetime commitment which serves as a bond between two married couples.

Which do you prefer marriage for life or a contract marriage?

Indeed there are times you may feel like graduating from marriage or possibly taking a break from the marriage. Though marriage is initially designed for a lifetime commitment and that is the reason for the statement for better and for worse till death do us part.

Over the years, we have seen marriage becoming hell on earth and that is the reason why another form of marriage like the contract marriage came into play. For a contract marriage, you only stay for some time and after that time everyone goes his or her way.

If I have the option to select between marriage for life and contract marriage, I will go for contract marriage and the reason is that I get tired of people easily and staying with one woman for life, I may get tired of her at some point since we will be staying together all through the period of marriage.

Do you agree that house chores should not be a role attached to a particular gender?

Yes, I perfectly agree that house chores should not be a role attached to a particular gender. Both males and females alike can do all the house chores hence there is no need to attribute it to just one gender alone.

Before marriage, I guess everyone does these chores on his or her own hence it is not normal that when both parties start staying together only a selected gender should carry out the task.

It should be shared in such a way that any of both genders who is available at the moment should effectively carry the task without waiting for the other party.

Consider yourself a specialist in the field, and share some tips with youths about marriage.?

Marriage is not for kids but for mature minds. Hence my first advice to everyone reading this publication is that if you are not mature in mind then don't even think of going into marriage. Secondly, don't see marriage as a union where only one party contributes because immediately you are married, they both become one and no longer two.

Finally, as a youth who wishes to go into marriage, you should know that the house chores are not meant for just one person and for the family to grow and stay in peace you need to always be patient with each other and learn to tolerate one another at all time.
