Club100// Patience is a Virtue🕒
What do we do with this android generation that wants everything at the snap of their fingers?
Growing up, my parents emphasised over and over again why we needed to follow every process of our lives without skipping any. The values they built in my siblings and I have not only solidified who we are (still working progress though), it has also not distracted us from the seemingly fast and easy life that others out there are living.
Truth is, everywhere we all turn, we are constantly bombarded with the message that we need to want things fast and easy. From the songs all over the place to "get this now" on social media to quick and easy money, meals, it's no surprise that many of us have become used to wanting things to happen quickly and with little or no effort.
The downside to this mentality, however, is not talked about enough. Some of them are:
📌 It can lead to a lack of patience and a tendency to give up easily when things don't go your way. When you want things fast and easy, you are less likely to put in the hard work and effort that is often required to achieve your goals.
📌 This mentality can also lead to a lack of appreciation for the journey and the process of achieving something. When you want things without due process, you tend to focus solely on the end result and overlook the learning and growth that can occur along the way.
📌 It can also lead to a lack of resilience and grit. When you want things quickly, you are less likely to persevere through difficult times and challenges. This can make you less prepared for the inevitable obstacles that you will face in life.
Instead, strive to appreciate the process, put in the hard work, and embrace the challenges that come your way. And trust me, when you are determined to be patient, those challenges will come really hard on you. But there is light at the end of that dark tunnel
