The Diary Game 2/9/2024 My visit to the South Region of Cameroon.
Good morning, everyone. I hope you're all doing well. Yesterday was a busy day for me in the South. I traveled to the South from Yaounde the day before yesterday, specifically to Djoum in the department of Dja-Et-Lobo, where I grew up. It's always amazing coming back here, as it brings back many childhood memories. My parents have been settled here for over 25 years. Djoum is a beautiful place with people of a different culture. Here in Djoum, their main language is Bulu and French. You can find Bamuns, Bamileke, Anglophones, and the Bulu people themselves, having different and beautiful meals. I will be telling you more about Djoum as time goes by. So after the camp meeting in Yaounde, I decided to come and spend some time with my parents.
I got up early because I had a lot of work to do. I started by tidying up my room. As soon as I got up, I heard raindrops, and then it started raining heavily.
Many people said I came with blessings, as it hadn't rained in Djoum for a long time. I could hear some children near our house celebrating, saying, Djoum, finally, we have rain!
While it rained, I finished cleaning my room and moved on to other tasks. A family meeting had taken place just before I arrived, so there was plenty of food, and I didn't have to cook. Later, I stepped outside and enjoyed seeing how the different trees had grown in our compound, as I love a green environment.
Yesterday was my sister @tanjongtina’s birthday. Although she wasn't around, I took the time to talk to her and pray for her, which was a joyful experience. It's amazing to see my younger siblings growing up so fast, especially as an older sister.
I also had time to do laundry, and after that, I took a bath. Had something to eat.
Then, I went to light the firewood kitchen to warm water for my dad so he could take his bath. I served him food and then retired for the night after a tiring but fulfilling day.
