Reasons why Humanitarian work is good
Hello steem world I hope all of you are fairing ok.
After sharing my experience on what to know about a humanitarian work. Today I will like to share about the importance of humanitarian works. You can not do this work when you can not bring yourself down to the people's level and by so doing you will realize that:
• When there is war or conflict, most people become vulnerable and lack basic needs like food, shelter and health assistance. Being a humanitarian, gives us the opportunity to bring relief to the people because they need it. Providing their needs help save human life .
• Emergency helps give relief and comfort to those affected because they are unable to be excercise resilience in such circumstances This may include providing non food items, providing shelter to those mostly affected and medical assistance thus bringing hope to them, in need.
• On a humanitarian mission, one gets exposed to different cultures, types of feeding habits, environment and gets new friends too. In this light you have to bring yourself down to the people and become part of them. This makes them know that you identify with Thier situation and they have a strong feeling they are not left behind. This aspect helps a lot in creating a cordial relationship with you and those in need.
• Some feeding programs in schools or high nutritive food assistance do not only encourage children to go back to school but also provide them with vital nutrients which can go a long way to improve children’s ability to think and learn in the short and long run.
• The challenge we encounter now as a result of climate change have pushed most people to the edge. With humanitarian work we help millions especially in drought affected areas to adapt to new agricultural practices and technologies which can remedy the devastating impact on them.
Looking at the nature and presentation of my humanitarian experience, one may be eager to be part of the mission. It’s a great thing to do so. Thanks for reading and will discuss with you in my next article the challenges one would face in the field as a humanitarian.
