Dust the dominant factor of Dry season

in Steem Cameroon3 years ago

Greetings to all my steemian friends. Hope we all had a nice day. We are already into the dry season and today I will be sharing with you the ills about this season most especially with the intensity of dusty conditions. The notion we all have about the dry season is always negative because it comes with extreme dryness, water shortages and most especially dust. This year dry season delayed due to the impact of climate change and that explains why the rainy days prolonged up to ending November with heavy rains.

increase in dust conditions within Bamenda

When there was covid-19 you could barely see people putting on face masks except reaching a control post but this period in town the market have increase not because many are using to prevent covid-19 but to cover dust from causing them respiratory complications. Majority of the Bamenda town roads are very dusty as a result of increase dryness. More have to be done by the municipal councils in trying to reduce this phenomenon by watering most of the roads to reduce its impacts.

Just few weeks as the dry season started in the North West regions of Cameroon, the magnitude of it presence is already a bigger problem that many are now expressing worries due to the kind of air they are already breathing.

There is much concern this days due to the state of our dusty road nature especially the Babadjou - Bamenda road and some of the town roads. Not looking at the road in its bad state, it is a great concern now as there is much dust which is a serious health threats to those beside the roads or road users most especially as we are entering more into the dry season.

Some years back, some major road companies like Sogea-Satom's were use to watering of the road so as to reduced the dust rate but from all evidence it will be a nightmare for road users as there is no watering since the dry season started and this year we are anticipating that there may be increase dust conditions.
Many lapses have been existing on this road issues and many fake promises to remedy the situation like that of the prime minister of Cameroon months back on his visit to the chief town of Bamenda that work will soon resume on the bamenda-Babadjou road and it’s environs.

These promises have been made several times and to add with was that of the minister of public works but it’s been months yet no issue and we do not know if it may take years.
It’s been 9 years plus now that we have been having poor state roads like the case of the Babadjou-Bamenda road that is now a question if the government really cares for its citizens. It’s not easy with the citizen at all but we hope for a fast solution to this problem.
Thanks so much for reading, commenting and liking my post.

I'm just tired of this dust issue. Barely one week into the dress season and the hold place is covered with dust in some quarters in my area. I noticed that on Sunday while going to church given that I passed through the market. It was terrible.

I was listening to the news yesterday and I overheard the minister of Public works ,indicating that they are going to work on our roads and I was wondering because I had heard this promises when I was in primary school. I traveled from the Northwest to the West Region and the dust on the road was suffocating talk less on the one in the midnight it's a pity. you know

That's just one negative aspect of this season but still has a lot of advantages

The dust really is a call for concern. To think we are still at the start of the dry season. One can only imagine how the heart of the dry season will look like.
