End of Year Festive Season: The Xmas Fever

Greetings my friends from Cameron, it is with great pleasure that I participate in this contest today. The contest was organised by @chant. As a sign of my complete participation, I will be attempting the questions given below.

Truly, this season comes with a lot as people are going up and down just to ensure they provide all that is needed for the celebrations. Parents are trying to make provisions for xmas dresses for their children and also make food provisions as well.

At the moment, the current situation in my community towards the Xmas celebration is very alarming. A lot has completely changed during this mber month. As it stands, we are currently experiencing a scarcity of fuel and high costs of transportation. Here in Nigeria, once the price of fuel increases, every other thing increases as well.

More also, despite the high price of fuel, people within and outside the community are still busy travelling in and out of the community. The markets are filled up with many buyers and sellers despite how expensive everything seems.

Yes, I celebrate during this period and I do this celebration with my friends and family. The season of Xmas is indeed a period where we meet all our family friends and relation. All those who travelled out before this period are coming back home for the celebration. We also do family meetings within this period of celebration since everybody travels out and works all year round.

Yes, celebration during this period is very necessary. If not for anything, for the fact that God has kept you from the beginning of the year till its end. In my case, as a Christian, it is customary to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and during this period you try to ensure you put a smile on the face of those around you.

As I have said earlier, the expenses during this season have drastically increased. At the present, I have gone to make a little shopping buying my cream, soap and perfume. All the prices of these items have increased drastically. Transportation too is on the increase. Initially, the price of my cream was 3,000 NGN which is equivalent to about 23 steem but the price is now 4,000 NGN which is now equivalent to about 31 steem.

In summary, the estimate of my usual expenses has increased by almost 30% of the initial cost price. This is indeed a very big problem for me because my income has not in any way increased. During this period, I have spent a rough estimate of about 50,000 NGN for getting foodstuff, buying creams and transportation. This is not so in the previous months.

The celebration season is a season of love and putting a smile in the faces of others. This is a season to call your friends and well wishes even your enemies and then wish them well. Try as much as you can to put a smile on the face of someone during this season. Stay blessed my friends.
